Our Strategy

The Paraclete Advanced Diversified Alpha fund (PANDA) is a quantitative alternative risk premia strategy investing across global asset classes, including equities, bonds, commodities, and currencies.

PANDA’s systematic investment process places significant emphasis on diversification and risk management. The fund’s objective is long-term capital appreciation at an attractive reward-to-risk ratio, with low correlation to major benchmarks.

Dennis Mak is the founder of Paraclete Capital and founder and portfolio manager of the Paraclete Advanced Diversified Alpha Fund (PANDA).

Prior to launching PANDA, Dennis was the founder and portfolio manager of the Paraclete Fund at Heritage Capital Management Pte. Ltd., where he was a partner and executive director. Under his leadership, the Paraclete Fund was ranked the #1 quant macro strategy globally for the duration of its multi-year track record, per Bloomberg. Paraclete Fund had an annualized performance of +30% net of fees.

Before Heritage, Dennis held investment roles at Ziff Brothers Investments Asia, Perry Capital, and Credit Suisse.

He holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a BA from Harvard University, magna cum laude, where he studied psychology and economics.

He is a member of the board of trustees for Nanyang Kindergarten, Primary, and Girls’ High School in Singapore and leads its Endowment management committee. He is a current member and past chair of the Harvard College Alumni Admissions Interview Committee.
